This sounds lovely, great flavour combinations. I like an interesting salad as a starter, you get to combine really good flavours that really get the tastebuds going!

..."gives your guests something to eat while you're frantically running around in the kitchen...."??? Unless I'm entertaining very casually and other folks are also in the kitchen with me, I dunno why I wouldn't be at the table eating salad with my guests. My mother-in-law used to never be at the dinner table when she hosted family holiday dinners. It made me very uncomfortable - I'd wonder - did she need help? Was she avoiding us? What is she doing in there, why isn't she eating with us??? I think its important to plan courses that will allow me to be at the table, I go into the kitchen between courses - my guests chat and drink their wine while they wait for the next course.
That aside, the salad sounds & looks divine!

Simple yet tasty. I love it!

You keep tempting me with these salads, I already made a variation on the Spiced Pumpkin, Lentil and Goat Cheese salad and now this? Quit tempting me, I am never going to get any work done. Just a joke, I am so glad you guys are presenting these brilliant ideas.

So pretty! This sounds wonderful. Any excuse to use cubed butternut squash is good in my opinion!
